  1. Misty,

You did a great job putting this page together! Everything is nicely laid out and very easy to read and find information. I thought it was real cool to see the many different places this film was shown in. This gives just that many more people the chance to see how inspiring this film is. It was also impressive to see that this film won 7 awards.

  2. I agree Michael. Well done Misty. Though there is not an overabundance of information, it gives the facts about the Screening History that ought to be recognized. I think the awards are a feat in and of itself for the film, but I also think it's remarkable how many film festivals there are. I'm sure this is only a small portion of the amount that one can find around the nation and globe, but I had not realized until this assignment the popularity of documentaries.

  3. I also liked this layout. It was great to see this film present in theaters within the "big" cities. The fact that this film was present in such cities reveals its success.

  4. Really good job on all of your information! I was really surprised to see how many theater screenings this film had. I wouldn't have imagined this type of film being shown in movie theaters. I really liked how you added the logos for all of the different awards this film has won. Nicely done!

  6. Thanks for replying to the screening history part of the Daughter from Danang Blog. Researching the screening history was challenging at times because I wanted more information about the festivals. I thought it might be interesting to attend a festival for a documentary film in the future. In addition, I agree that this film has shown in many theatres. However, I still believe that the audiences that this film has reached are limited. I did not even know that this film existed until this class. I think that being able to stream this film on Netflix has been the best way that this film will be able to reach a much larger audience in the future.

    1. I agree with you Misty Netflix is a great way to broaden its audience. A powerful movie such as this one does need to reach more people. You did a good job with the limited resources avilable to you.

    2. Well, you certainly covered everything didn't you? Seems like this movie has a good history and a strong presence in the film industry. I can see why, because I really liked this powerful documentary. It was easy to watch (as opposed to some others), and obviously the critics agree- it was well done! As was your post! Thanks for letting us know exactly what these directors have accomplished with this documentary.

  9. Wow... this film has been shown in many places and gotten a ton of awards! I was most surprised to see that it was aired on CBS. That is actually a pretty popular network. Obviously just the large amount of places it has been shown and the great number of awards reflects how great of a documentary this is. I agree with the above comments that I hope it being on Netflix means it will become more popular.

  10. I thought you did a good job displaying the various locations of the showings of this excellent film. I noticed that similar to other documentaries, there is an initial spike in showings and viewings, and awards, then it dies down. I think it would be interesting to study the long term statistics of these documentaries. For instance, how many times and how recent has PBS shown the film. Another statistic that would be interesting would to be able to access and analyze the same Netflix statistics for the movie. I searched for recent showings and all I found was the screenings after its initial release into select theaters. - Jeremiah Yoder
